What is PLA?
PLA is also known as bio-plastic or bio-plastic. The material consists mainly of the starch from corn plants. This raw material is natural, purely vegetable and above all renewable. For NatureStar's disposable aprons, only industrial corn is used and explicitly no food plants. In order to produce PLA, the starch is transformed into lactic acids through a fermentation process, which are processed into granules and then into films. These films are then used to make the organic aprons. Only natural raw materials are used in the production process. Organic disposable aprons made of PLA can therefore be completely biodegraded by industrial composting.
