What is nylon?
Nylon is the more common name for polyamide and one of the most important synthetically produced fibres. It is very light, fine and above all extremely elastic. This stretchability makes nylon an important component for clothing and gloves because it gives the necessary stretch. Polyamide or nylon is produced in the so-called melt spinning process. The material is non-absorbent, but resistant to bacteria and fungi because it does not provide them with a breeding ground. This makes nylon products ideal for hygienic areas because they prevent contamination and the spread of germs. In addition, nylon is tear-resistant, robust, abrasion-resistant and weather-resistant.
