What is CPE?
CPE is a special type of polyethylene to which chlorine has been added. CPE has many advantages and is particularly suitable when it comes to making products more durable, denser or stronger. This is because, thanks to chlorination, this material is waterproof and protects against liquids and splashes. At the same time, CPE is hard-wearing and resistant to mechanical stresses such as abrasion or tearing. CPE is often used as an extra protective layer for disposable clothing such as aprons or gowns, or as a material for overshoes - especially in the sole area, which is subject to particular stress.
