Why birch as a raw material?
Birch wood is usually produced from either the bog birch (Betula pubescens) or the silver birch (Betula pendula). Both trees are planted purely as timber. Products made from birch wood are very environmentally friendly and recyclable. Birch wood can be processed naturally and untreated - without bleaching. As a renewable raw material, birch wood is particularly sustainable and well suited for products that need to be stable and come into contact with food. Examples: Toothpicks, disposable cutlery, meat skewers etc. Birch wood is very robust, smooth and splinter-free. Products made of birch wood are absolutely tasteless and food-safe.
