What types of folds are there for paper towels?
Folding techniques for paper towels
• ZZ-fold / V-fold:
Towels that are folded using the ZZ-fold or V-fold are folded in the middle and pushed into each other to create an accordion effect. Viewed from the side, the papers are reminiscent of interlocking "Z" or "V" shapes. This folding allows the paper towels to be removed individually from the dispenser. When they are removed, half of the next sheet is automatically exposed, ready for the next user.
• Z-fold / Z-interfold
Towels with a Z-fold or Z-interfold are folded twice and therefore fit into smaller dispensers due to their smaller dimensions. The towels are folded together so that each individual towel can be removed and the next one is immediately ready to hand. Only the individual wipe is touched when it is removed from the dispenser. When pulled out, the wipe unfolds automatically and is immediately ready for use.
• C-fold
In contrast to the other folding techniques, towels with a C-fold are laid on top of each other in individual layers instead of being laid inside each other. The papers are folded twice, creating a C-shape. Thanks to this special fold, the towel can be used both folded and unfolded. A major advantage of C-fold towels is the particularly large sheet size and the fact that they can be stored completely and hygienically in the dispenser without any part of the towel sticking out.
