They can absorb and reliably retain up to 1,300 ml of liquid. The reason for this high absorbency is the special material mix and the MaXX-Dry technology inside the bed pads. They are equipped with an absorbent core made of cellulose and so-called SAP (short for Super Absorbent Polymer). This highly absorbent SAP material can absorb and lock in many times its own weight in liquid.
