FFP masks
Respirators are part of the Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and are used where respiratory toxins, chemical substances, dust or bacteria occur. Choose between three filter classes (FFP1, FFP2, FFP3) and different designs: Protective masks with or without breathing valve, with ear loops or comfortable head straps.

Face masks for single use - breathing through safely and comfortably
Face masks belong to PPE (personal protective equipment) just like protective gloves or protective clothing. Especially in industry and trade, there are often jobs where respiratory toxins can arise. These can be, for example, chemical substances, dust and bacteria that occur during cleaning or sanitation work. A face mask provides reliable protection against these hazards.

Face masks are basically divided into two groups:
Full masks: these are worn, for example, in the military or by firefighters. Colloquially, this type of respiratory protection is known as a gas mask or ABC mask.
Half masks: Half masks are the most common face masks in industry and trade. They are made of fleece and filter out harmful substances from the air breathed. Therefore, they are technically referred to as filtering half masks or fine dust masks. These protective masks are intended for single use and cannot be reused. This is why the abbreviation "NR" stands for "Not Reusable" in the type designation of the face mask.
Filtering half masks protect against solid particles and liquid aerosols (liquid droplets). The mask consists of several layers of fleece and a special filter medium. This filter is electrostatic and binds the particles in the face mask. The harmful particles are therefore not inhaled. As this filter layer absorbs more and more of these particles during use, breathing resistance increases, i.e. breathing becomes more difficult. The mask must then be changed. It is intended for single use only and should be worn for a maximum of one working day.
Franz Mensch uses particularly high-quality fleece materials to keep breathing resistance as low as possible. For even more comfort, there are fine dust masks with a valve. It reliably prevents heat buildup and minimizes breathing resistance - for the best possible breathing experience.
Filtering half masks are part of PPE and are subject to the EN 149:2001 + A1:2009 standard. They are available in three filter classes.
Filter classes according to EN 149
FFP1 - for low risks - face masks of this group protect against solid and liquid particles, as well as non-toxic aerosols.
FFP2 - for medium risks - respirators of this category can be used against solid and liquid particles, non-toxic solid and liquid aerosols, against particles of carcinogenic substances, against bacteria, fungi and their spores.
FFP3 - for high risks - face masks of FFP3 category protect against solid and liquid particles, against highly toxic solid and liquid aerosols, against particles of carcinogenic substances, against bacteria, fungi and their spores, against viruses, enzymes and against radioactive particles
