Franz Mensch cotton gloves

Soft, natural and simply comfortable: thanks to their natural material, cotton gloves offer maximum skin-friendliness and wearer comfort. Cotton gloves are made either from pure cotton or from a material mix of cotton and synthetic fibers (cotton blend). As lightweight fabric gloves, they are versatile and can be used for a variety of activities: In the catering industry for spotless setting and touching of dishes, in warehouses and industry as cotton work gloves, in the food industry, in the laboratory or for cleaning work as thin undergloves.

Why cotton gloves?

Cotton is a great material for gloves because it sets the standard in terms of comfort and durability. The fibers can be processed into very robust, durable textiles from which, for example, work gloves are made. At the same time, cotton is air-permeable and comfortable to wear over a long period of time. Cotton is a natural fabric that is particularly soft and kind to the skin. Cotton gloves are ideal as underlay gloves under cut protection, cleaning or chemical protection gloves or solo as assembly gloves and work gloves.

What is cotton and where does it come from?

Cotton is a vegetable and therefore renewable raw material. It is the most important textile raw material in the world. The cotton plant grows in the tropical to subtropical regions of the earth. In the case of cotton, the fiber is obtained from the fruits or seeds. The cotton fruit is a capsule that bursts open when it is ripe. It then sprouts 20 to 40 heavily hairy seeds - the seed cotton. The seed hairs are essentially cellulose. The longer these hairs are, the more valuable the cotton is and the finer it can be spun. The so-called "staple length", as well as the color and sheen of the fiber, depend on the type and variety of cotton and the growing conditions. The seed hairs are later spun into cotton yarn.

What does cotton blend mean?

In addition to gloves made of pure cotton, there are also gloves made of a cotton mix. To make cotton gloves more durable and flexible, synthetic fibers such as polyester or nylon can be added. Cotton blend combines the advantages of both material components. For example, work gloves made from a cotton/nylon blend are more elastic than pure cotton and have a particularly snug fit. In addition, gloves made of cotton blend are robust and withstand mechanical stress very well.

White or black, thin or strong: your choice of cotton gloves

  • Lightweight cotton gloves
Lightweight and thin cotton gloves are ideal for use as undergloves under cleaning gloves, prick protection gloves or chemical protection gloves. They are seamless for this purpose so that nothing pinches or rubs. An under-glove made of cotton is gentle on the skin, reduces sweating and noticeably increases wearer comfort. In cold working environments, undergloves can be worn as a warming layer.
  • Strong cotton gloves
Strong quality cotton gloves are particularly durable and long-lasting. They can be worn as work gloves or protective gloves. Cotton gloves have excellent sensitivity for precise work and are extremely robust. With layered fingers and an anatomical thumb, we at Franz Mensch provide excellent flexibility as well as an improved fit.
