Tyvek® is made from fine, spun continuous fibres of high-density polyethylene and is air and water vapour permeable while repelling water-based liquids and spray mist. The fabric offers a very high barrier against fine particles and is antistatic and low-lint, without the addition of silicone. Tyvek® 600 Plus is certified according to EU Regulation 2016/425 and meets the requirements for chemical protective clothing Category III, Type 4-B, 5-B and 6-B as well as EN 14126 for protection against infectious agents.
Typical applications include maintenance and decommissioning work in the nuclear industry, pharmaceutical production, research laboratories, biosafety areas and medical applications in compliance with local regulations.
