There are often areas in production where helmets are not compulsory, but where there is still a risk of injury. And this is exactly where the bump cap comes into its own. Bump caps are part of PPE (personal protective equipment). They protect against lacerations or other injuries that can be caused by bumping into hard objects. For example, from protruding equipment or machines.
No! Both terms are often lumped together, but strictly speaking there is a difference. The term "biodegradable" in general, after all, almost any material can be degraded at some point. Biodegradable materials are decomposed over time by bacteria and other organisms. However, the conditions under which this extraction takes place are not defined.

Compostable products always consist of organic materials, the natural decomposition of which produces proper compost. In order for organic waste to become compost, the environmental conditions must be right. This includes sufficient water and oxygen as well as the right temperature. The European standard EN 13432 as well as the American standard ASTM D6400 specify exactly in which time frame a complete decomposition of the raw materials must have taken place. For example, 90% of the material must be degraded after 6 months. Very important: compostable materials do not leave any hazardous residues and are therefore particularly environmentally friendly.
